BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (March. 16, 2022) - The Birmingham Squadron announced today that the team has claimed a Birmingham native and UAB graduate, forward Jordan Swing.
Swing (6-6, 200), returns to Birmingham after spending the last seven seasons playing overseas in Spain (2015-16, 2017-18), Belgium (2016-17), Israel (2018-20), Germany (2020-21), Mexico (2021-22) and most recently Ukraine (2021-22). This season, Swing averaged 8.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists in seven games with Kyiv Basket before play was suspended due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Swing also boasts former G League experience, playing 11 games with the Canton Charge (now Cleveland Charge) during the 2014-15 season. Swing averaged 4.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists with the Charge, shooting 45.5% from the field and 50.0% from the three-point line.
The Vestavia Hills High School graduate played three seasons at UAB (2011-14) after transferring from Western Kentucky University following his freshman season (2009-10). Over his collegiate career, Swing averaged 8.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists.
Swing will travel with the Squadron to Austin, Texas to face off against the Spurs Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. CT.
