Squadron’s leading scorer notches first-career G League postseason award

BIRMINGHAM, Ala – Birmingham Squadron two-way guard Malcolm Hill has been named to the 2023-24 All-NBA G League Second Team, as announced by the NBA G League office Thursday afternoon.

Hill finished last season ranked fifth in the league in scoring, averaging 23.3 points per game in 30 total regular season contests. The Illinois product hit 100 three-pointers in the regular season, good for sixth in the G League and connected on 95 free throws, the fifth-most in the league.

On Jan. 18 against the Iowa Wolves, Hill scored 44 points to set the Squadron franchise record for points in a single game and this season’s award is the first time Hill has been named to an All-G League team.

The All-NBA G League Second Team award is the first for Birmingham and the first time a Squadron player was named to an all-league team since Jared Harper represented the Squadron on the All-NBA G League third team in 2021-22.
