Birmingham Squadron Partner with I See Me, Inc. for Annual Literacy Day Game

By Birmingham Squadron Staff /January 22, 2024

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham Squadron and I See Me, Inc. are set to partner for the team’s annual Literacy Day game for a third consecutive season.

In each of the Squadron’s season in the Magic City, the team has promoted literacy in local schools with its partnership with I See Me, Inc. through a “Battle of the Books” initiative that encourages local students to read through competition.

The contest is set to run from Feb. 1 through March 1, with students who complete the program’s reading achievements earning a trip to the Squadron’s Literacy Day game on Tuesday, March 12.

“With a portion of I See Me, Inc.’s mission being to ensure that literacy is not a stumbling block, our partnership is a fantastic opportunity for us to get involved with our local schools and students on more than a surface level,” said Birmingham Squadron general manager Leslie Claybrook. “The Battle of the Books competition is a win-win for everyone involved, from the students to the Squadron to I See Me, Inc. We cannot wait to host all the schools inside Legacy Arena at the BJCC on March 12.”
