Birmingham Squadron Announce Training Camp Roster Changes

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham Squadron today announced two cuts and two additions to its training camp roster.

Center Sterling Manley and guard M.J. Randolph were both waived from the Squadron’s training camp roster, while guards Tyson Jolly and Taz Sherman were added from the available player pool.

Jolly, a rookie, participated in training camp with the G League’s Greensboro Swarm and spent his collegiate career at four different schools: Iona (2021-22), SMU (2019-21), Trinity Valley Community College (2018-19) and Baylor (2017-18). While playing collegiately, Jolly averaged 11.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while shooting the three-ball at a 36.2% clip.

Sherman, also a rookie, spent the 2019-22 seasons with head coach Bob Huggins at West Virginia, averaging 12.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game during his time in Morgantown. He was named All-Big 12 Second Team in 2021-22.

The Birmingham Squadron open the season against the Lakeland Magic on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. at Legacy Arena at the BJCC.
