Birmingham Squadron Announce Return of Malcolm Hill

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham Squadron have acquired Malcolm Hill via returning rights, the team announced Monday. Hill appeared in five games for the Chicago Bulls this season before being waived by the team on Feb. 21.

Hill averaged 1.8 minutes per game for the Bulls and has shot 50% from the field and 33% from behind the arc so far this season. His season-high five points came on Feb. 16 against the Milwaukee Bucks. In 2021-22, the 6-6 Illinois alum played in 19 games, three with Atlanta and 16 with Chicago, averaging 11.2 minutes per contest and 1.3 points per game.

During the Squadron’s inaugural season, Hill appeared in 14 games with 12 starts and scored 16.8 points per game, in addition to averaging 6.4 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.4 assists per contest.

With the addition of Hill, Birmingham has waived guard Riley LaChance.

The Squadron return to the hardwood on Thursday at Austin, with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. on My68 WABM and ESPN+.
