BIRMINGHAM SQUADRON ACQUIRE DAULTON HOMMES IN TRADE WITH AUSTIN SPURS

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Feb. 21, 2022) - The Birmingham Squadron announced today that the team has acquired the returning player rights to forward Daulton Hommes in a trade with the Austin Spurs, G League affiliate of the San Antonio Spurs. In exchange for Hommes, the Squadron are sending Austin the returning player rights to forward Jarrod Uthoff and the team’s first-round pick (via Maine Celtics) in the 2022 NBA G League Draft.

Hommes (6-8, 215), returns to the Squadron after spending the first part of the 2021-22 season as a two-way player with the New Orleans Pelicans. Last season (2020-21), Hommes played in Italy with Vanoli Cremona, averaging 16.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 28 games, while shooting .427 from the three-point line.

The Lynden, Washington native has previously played one season in the G League, averaging 8.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 36 games with the Austin Spurs in 2019-20. He also shot .424 from the field and .333 from behind the arc.

Hommes graduated from Point Loma Nazarene, where he led the Sea Lions to the 2019 NCAA Division II Tournament Championship game and was named NABC Division II National Player of the Year and an All-American. In his Player of the Year season, he averaged 21.9 points and 5.8 rebounds.
