Birmingham Announces Addition of Izaiah Brockington

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Guard Izaiah Brockington has been claimed from the waiver wire by the Birmingham Squadron, the team announced Monday.

Brockington played for Iowa State (2021-22), Penn State (2019-21) and St. Bonaventure (2017-18) over the course of his collegiate career and averaged 10.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists over his four seasons on the court. As a redshirt senior at Iowa State, the Philadelphia native was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and garnered First-Team All-Big 12.

Starting all 35 games for the Cyclones in 2021-22, Brockington scored 16.9 points per game and averaged 6.8 rebounds and 1.6 dimes per contest.

Brockington was undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft and was signed to the New Orleans Pelicans Summer League roster before suffering an injury in early June.
